What is it about playing outdoors in the cold and snow that crippled the Indianapolis Colts so much? Peyton Manning is now 0-6 against the Patriots in Foxboro after today’s 20-3 loss. I thought for sure this would be the game of the weekend, but it turned out to be an incredibly painful-to-watch, defensive battle.
Serves the “experts” right for disrespecting the defending Super Bowl champs for the last week. And now, maybe the Colts “idiot kicker” will learn to keep his mouth shut from now on. The Patriots were anything but ripe for the picking. They took the critics predictions of a Colts’ offensive domination and crammed it right down their throats.
So, after this weekend, we’re left with a pair of games next weekend that have the potential to be two instant classics. The Steelers hope to rebound from a lackluster offensive performance to beat the Pats for the second time this season, while the Eagles will try to plug the holes in their rush defense in time to stop the league’s most dynamic rushing attack: Michael Vick.
We should be in for a treat next weekend, but I thought we’d get a good game this afternoon. Uh, wrong. I actually fell asleep at one point.
Just like the Eagles struggles in the NFC title game, the Colts can’t get past the Pats. Here’s to next weekend and a pair of memorable games!
See you on the couch…
