VTHokieFans.com was founded during the 2005 season as a site dedicated to posting a list of Hokie-friendly bars and restaurants. It quickly grew into offering video highlights, columns, standings and more.
The site has been through a handful of redesigns and is now a clean, fully CSS coded, and user and search engine friendly Web site. One of the biggest gripes about the site during it’s first two seasons was the use of QuickTime movies. Many people had trouble viewing them and I was breaking the videos up into 8-14 clips per game, which made it pretty tedious (so I’m told) to watch all of the highlights. So, during the most recent basketball season, I tested YouTube as a new way of offering video content. It was a huge hit!
Thusfar, I have converted all highlights except for the 2006 season to YouTube clips, which are available below. Because of my less-than-efficient means of categorizing those highlights in the past, you may find that some highlight reels may be out of order.
You can view the highlights of games in chronological order by visiting www.vthokiefans.com, or you can also go straight to our new YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/vthokiefans.
We hope you enjoy the new delivery method and we’d love to hear your feedback. Thanks and GO HOKIES!
